Hello and welcome! I’m Andrew Smith and this is my blog. I'm keen to share my opinions and put them in writing online with this personal project.

What the blog is about:

In this blog I will explain and analyze my professional field, international affairs. My current role is in human rights and immigration. The blog's posts will cover migration, conflict, and power politics. I will also write country reports, book reviews, and article responses.

Why I’m blogging:

The primary purpose of this blog is to demonstrate my knowledge and expertise to prospective employers. It will also allow me to present complex issues in a digestible manner. I share the opinion that if you can’t explain something simply then you don’t understand it. Also, I miss rigorous research and writing!

I'm excited for this personal project of mine and hope you get something out of what I have to share. For now, I will will be posting monthly and announcing new blog posts on LinkedIn and Twitter.
